RAVENOL Break-In Oil SAE 20W-50
is a mineral break-in oil for the initial filling and running-in of repaired or overhauled engines with special high-pressure additives that can withstand very high pressure. The use of friction-improving additives (friction modifiers) is dispensed with here in order to considerably shorten the running-in phase for reconditioned and modified engines. Rapid setting of the piston rings is achieved.
Due to a high proportion of 2.5% ZDDP (zinc dithiophosphate), (this corresponds to approx. 2,500 ppm zinc), RAVENOL Break-In Oil SAE 20W-50 is particularly recommended for running-in classic V8 engines with flat tappets. It protects the camshaft, lifter and valve train during the engine break-in phase. This engine oil is very suitable for all high-lift and racing camshafts and regulates the initial running-in clearance of the engine bearings.
Application note:
RAVENOL Break-In Oil SAE 20W-50 serves as a classic break-in oil and may therefore only remain in the engine for a short time (max. 1000 km). The particularly high proportion of wear-inhibiting additives offers extra protection during the critical running-in phase of reconditioned engines.
Please follow the instructions of your engine reconditioner during the running-in phase. Avoid high engine loads and speeds.
