The XJR6
I cannot even agree with myself. In two years I have had four all-time favourites: the Dodge Viper, the Aston Martin Vantage, the Escort Cosworth and the Ferrari 355.
And now there is a fifth. The Jaguar XJR.
There was a reason for the enthusiasm: Mr Clarkson was testing a 1994 Jaguar XJR press car, and Jaguar was clever enough to give the press representatives - all car fanatics - hand-shifted XJRs. That meant 20 hp more at the rear axle, a sportiness that had long been lacking at Jaguar and a top speed of over 265 km/h!
The output of the AJ16 was increased to 331 hp (243 kW) by an Eaton M90 and a maximum torque of 512 Nm provided the necessary steam to get the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 6 seconds, which took the four-door saloon into Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini territory in the 1990s.
A very rare vehicle
Instead of the GM 4L80-E, a manual 5-speed gearbox from Getrag was fitted. A total of 268 XJR6s with manual transmission were built, 160 of which were left-hand drive. Seven were delivered to Austria. 22 to Germany
XJR6 "British Racing Green"
Thias was one of the seven original Cars sold to Austria. We have recently SOLD it. There is one more Chance, maybe even a betterone:
XJR6 "Kingfisher Blue"
The second vehicle was converted to a manual gearbox using original parts. This XJR6 was recently repainted, the engine was overhauled with a new timing chain, tensioners and guides, cylinder head gasket, complete overhaul of the intake manifold, cylinder head, superchargers, etc. A thick folder with all the documents comes with the vehicle. The previous owner had invested a total of over €12,000. The Supercharger was tuned and delivers approx. 360 hp and significantly more torque. The current owner has carried out the professional conversion to an original Jaguar Getrag 290. The conversion was carried out using original parts, including the wiring harness and all interior parts.
The engine control unit was reprogrammed to match the manual gearbox. The tuned engine was flanged to the gearbox with a lighter flywheel and a 9" Helix motorsport clutch to accommodate the increased torque.
On the outside, the XJR6 is very civilised - except for the colour. It is currently fitted with 18" wheels from the XK8. 5 original Jaguar sports wheels are currently being replaced, giving the XJR6 an almost new look. A special highlight is the colour scheme. The Kingfischer Blue is a rare colour and magically attracts all eyes without being obtrusive.
Inside, the car is in very good condition. The headlining is new and the black leather interior is in very presentable condition. This XJR also has an Austrian first registration and is delivered with a valid § 57a certificate.
It is being sold by the private owner himself. We will be happy to provide you with information and establish contact.
